Unable to upload photos in new upload mask

Description of problem: When trying to upload photos (jpeg as well as png) the process gets stuck during loading of metadata. Eventually the upload of the picture fails. I know that everything is fine with the picture because

a) In the old upload mask the picture upload and the retrival of the metadata work perfectly. But it is very inconvenient so I dont want to use it.

b) When I use the new upload mask the observation date gets successfully loaded and the AI can even come up with an identification but it still shows “loading metadata” for minutes. When I delete the photo and save the observation and add the photo afterwards everything works fine.

I am using an OM-5 and develop my RAW-pictures with Lightroom.

By “upload mask” do you mean the upload page, https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/upload?

Going by the screenshot it appears so, yes. “Maske” is used in German with the sense of “template” or “(online) form for entering data”.

@jakobmalik can you please email that photo directly to help@inaturalist.org, and send it as an attachment or via something like Google Drive? Photos are stripped of metadata on the forum, so using the photo you posted here wouldn’t be a good way to try and replicate this bug.
