Who knew snails could be so adorable?
I wouldnât say this springtail is unexpectedly cute, but I would say that it was unexpected that I managed to find the little guy and get a good shot of him!
Really cool pics! You can put more than one picture in a post, by the way!
I find these fungivorous Damaeus mites unexpectedly cute since I found out they carry debris on their backs, apparently known as âcrud hatsâ, which help to camouflage them from predators as they move so slowly. For years I have seen them on my fungal specimens, without paying them much attention, but now they bring me joy when I pick up a mushroom and see their elaborate disguises.
This ADORABLE duckling of a Little Grebe who was so fluffy!!!
Then a Spotted Owlet trio cuddled up and looking way too cute.

Of course itâs cute, but it is also unexpected to find a random puppy in the woods: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/348326958
Why is it flagged?

oh, okay! Thanks!
A Tailed Jay!
Itâs dead, yes, but beautiful. I found its eyes to be incredibly cute and the same goes for the pretty patterns on its wings. Unexpectedly cute, because I wasnât expecting to see it lying on the road!
