Can you see their uploads in your search results? If not, then one of you may have blocked the other. That seems hard to do by accident, but you can check in Account Settings > Relationships > (scroll down) Blocked Users.
If you can see their uploads, then blocking shouldn’t be the issue because
It also removes their observations from your search results and removes your observations from their search results.
The observation date is from five months ago, but those observations were uploaded today. The filters automatically sort by date added, so everything is working as expected. Is that the only issue you were having? Or are things not showing up on your dashboard?
Yes, this is true. However, I asked a few of our fellow iNatters to check wether they can see my activities.
So far I got 4 responses, saying that they can see my stuff all right, but I also got one negative response. She says that she got notified by my ID and comment, but cannot see any of my uploads newer than september.
So, maybe there is an issue after all.
Your latest observation dates are in September, but you have been posting observations with older dates this month. Have you posted any observations with a date after September? When asking people, you should clarify whether “uploads” means date observed or date added.
That’s what I wrote to the people I have been asking for help:
“As a part of resolving the issue I picked a few users from different countries who happen to follow my activities. Could you please check your timeline and tell me if you see my todays uploads? Additionally I dropped a test comment and a test ID under your newest upload. Please tell me wether you are notified or not? And are you able to see my ID and my comment? (I will remove them later.)”
So I asked specifically about todays uploads. Now I again contacted the user who also had an issue and asked her to recheck this. Maybe she mixed up “observation date” and “upload date”. Keeps happening to me as well …
Got a few more replies from users following my uploads, and after some rechecking there seems to be no issue. So, for now it seems to be settled.
No bug.
It was probably a matter of handling the app, and also chance (me being always away just when the user posted, so I never reacted to his obs for months). Once again it shows how easy it is to make mistakes when using iNat. Oh well, live and learn, live and learn …
Again, thanks to all involved in resolving this issue!
