By design, unfortunately (a decision motivated by the problems caused by training it on bird hybrids, while the problems caused by not training it on plant hybrids seem to have been overlooked).

Had one a few weeks ago when I was walking to a wildlife refuge I had to pass through a residential neighborhood. While walking along I spotted a butterfly flitting around and tried to take a couple pictures with my phone when it landed on some pavers bordering a small garden. Figuring at least one of those pictures had to be good (it was very hot and sunny) I continued my walk until I heard someone say “Excuse me, can I help you!? You just took a bunch of pictures of my house (at no point was their house in frame)”
“No, I was taking a picture of a butterfly that flew through your garden”
“…well you better stop doing that!”
Around here was where I decided nothing productive was going to happen from here on out and kept walking but they watched me from their porch until I turned the corner.
The worst part is none of the pictures were particularly identifiable!
Mine is actually pretty similar to yours, @mkanimallover . Me and my family took a road trip to the Boise Nature Preserve in Idaho. I had brought my camera with me and took photos of Stemontis, Dacrymyces, and plenty of other fungi species. When I was on the main bridge taking a photo of a deer, a message flashed on my screen, “Hard drive storage full.” I was disappointed, because I save my files on a stationary PC, and obviously I can not bring a stationary PC with me to Boise, which means I can not delete the photos without saving them. Days later, I was home again. I sat down in front of my computer, and I attempted to delete the photos thinking I saved them. What I did not realize was that I forgot to plug the transfer cord into my camera! I accidentally deleted my whole hard drive file!! This camera was older, so I couldn’t restore the photos. Sadly, I moved on…
