What is your go-to habitat for inatting

A bit late to the party, but I usually make observations in either urban streets or bushland reserves. The latter, in terms of habitat, are usually forest or woodland.

Not daily anymore, due to changed circumstances.

I used to work close to a state park, so I’d walk there on my lunch hour. I work elsewhere now, so more of my iNatting is on weekends.

There is a tunnel that connects a regional park with a neighborhood and trail system across a busy street. Tons of beetles, spiders, and inside the tunnel…moths! I am in Minnesota.

I am mostly a weekend warrior.
I like places called “Scrub”, it usually means remnant native vegetation.
Other favourites are “Gorge”, “Fall(s)” and “Summit”.
I live in South Australia. A “Bog” always means a spring that keeps the place wet during the dry summers. There is only one within an hour drive.

My favourite has always been closed forest. Between the drought, indiscriminate prescribed burning and koalas, they are all open forest now except some urban reserves.
The beaches are a no go zone since the algal bloom.

You have taken animal ID to an impressive level of intimacy!
