This sounds like so much fun, sure! I’m currently in the Kansas City area.
P.S. - not very good at observing birds for lack of a better camera.
Thank you for doing this :D
I was confused at first, since the first profile I landed on was empty. (Is this one you maybe forgot about?) but at last I found your charming profile.
Some plants and pollinators of which you appear not to have made Observations:
- this charming bee
- this beautiful blue mud dauber
- this exquisite wild ginger
- ghost pipes, beloved by bumbles
Good luck!
Confession: I spent far too long struggling to decide if you meant Kansas or Missouri. Ultimately I decided on Missouri, with hopes that either I am right or it will not matter awfully. Whee!
- this delicate bloom with unusual (to me) leaves
- this WILD looking plant (I love doing this! I am finding species I have never heard of)
- this one that looks like purple fireworks
- summer challenge: this bright green beetle
Sorry so many are plants but to be honest, you have just amazing ones near you and I became a bit enraptured.
Profile is @mo0nsgreenthumb
Mission accepted!
Oooh I’d love a challenge! I’ve got a couple in mind either before or during CNC
I might have been hearing palm warblers! I’ll need to confirm that.
Hi @liamodo! I love issuing challenges (and think I am getting a little adroit at it), however I am not clear if that is what you wanted?
This confused me. (Admittedly many things do.)
I happened to come across the False Rue Anemone the very next day! It was an underwhelming hike for the most part, but my excitement upon finding these flowers made it totally worth it!
Thanks again, keeping my eye out for the others now…
I’ll happily take a challenge. The main one I already had in mind was pseudoscorpions. It’s one of the few arachnids that I havent seen yet and theres at least a couple species in my area.
OK! I really like how you observe all types of things, so I am giving you challenges accordingly.
- regular challenge: this swamp rose is kind of amazing, so please try to find it.
- super challenge: this handsome owl which may keep a different schedule than you.
- ultimate challenge: this oddly shaped little hopper which we have here. If you see it we will share a species! (Because it is so small, I will share that all of mine were found on Pluchea carolinses.)
Good luck!
Great, I’ll try. Actually I’ve already posted a spring peeper, but hopefully I’ll see a second one.
I would love a challenge @ItsMeLucy!
Well of course!
Oh goodness I am so sorry. I think I meant a different one. As I recall there were about 8 frog species in your area and I think you had only observed two or three. Any other new friend will do!
Hi @zlang8 ! I think your usual place of observing is Florida but I am having a bit of a time deciding where in Florida. Is there a particular coast or part of the state that is better than another for selecting species for challenges?
Oh that’s cool! - I love nature challenges, but I’ll would like an easy one…
To much going on etc
