I have been bitten by cats, dogs, and a captive azure-winged magpie at the Philadelphia Zoo. It felt like someone poked me in the back with a pencil. I was stung by a wasp and although I am not allergic, I did have a strange feeling after being stung, like the venom was having an effect on me.

I have been bitten by a Crotaphytus and it drew blood, but an alligator lizard (Elgaria) was more painful because it pinched down on my finger like a clamp and would not let go for a while. Alligator lizards are well named.
