I’m asking if it’s possible to find statistics of new species in 2025 of a geographic area ? Thanks for your rewards.

Yes, it is possible to find statistics for species observed in a specific geographic area on iNaturalist.

However, I’m not sure exactly what you mean by “new species”, do you mean new to the platform, new to that area, new species documented during that calendar year, etc.

If you want a custom list of species documented in an area specifically within the year 2025, you can use URL parameters on the Explore page to get what you want.

  1. Go to the iNaturalist Explore Page and use the Location filter to select the target geographic area.
  2. Look at the URL in the browser and note the place_id number.
  3. Manually append &year=2025 to the end of the URL string.
    • Example structure: https://inaturalist.org
  4. Click on the Species tab to see every single species recorded in that area during 2025, ranked from most observed to least observed.

What this post made me personally interested in is a separate topic of finding first-ever records for a region that you found in said year. If that so happens to be what you wanted here is how I think it can be done:

On the browser, one can set the Location filter to their area on the Explore page, open Filters, and click Download. In the exported CSV spreadsheet, they can sort the species list by the date observed column (earliest first) to find the first records ever uploaded for that region.

I don’t know if someone has made a third party tool for this, but if they have that would be great. I’m guessing this would accomplish it though: https://kildor.name/inat/new-species

I’m working on the same kind of thing - What species have been observed this year that have never been observed in this location before.

You can create a list based on a user name, location and / or taxon.
