When you get a bit excited over getting a pimple because you can post it to iNat to finally get a bacteria observation using the acne bacteria that probably caused it…

But at least if we’re all strange together, we understand each other! Like a happy little family of weirdos.

We all are strange in our ways regarding this but at the end we all have one thing in common. And I quite agree to @Mercedes-Fletcher,we are not a little family,we are big strange family.

@Mercedes-Fletcher @karthikeyaeco , We aren’t a weird and strange family, we are completely normal. People who don’t use iNat are the weird ones. Ha!

I have problems with vertigo and my doctor says that looking at things around me while walking (and walking on uneven surfaces like a trail through a nature preserve) is good vestibular rehab.

Ha! Looking around me, especially up, sets mine off.
So does the standing up from squatting to photograph. But I do it several times each day, as many days as I can handle.
Dizzy, indeed. My doctor prescribed anti motion sickness medicine, because she knows I’m not going to stop. ( She does agree photographer yoga is good.)
Why? Because I’m seriously into iNat.

…Its is ur exam time and always nature shows its colours during exam time, all the amazing species u are waiting to see a few days before emerge during exam time. Vestibular rehab sucks because it does make you dizzy. Having it be a fun activity makes it not so bad. I have a telescoping walking pole that I use to help me get up from a squat.

PS It works as a monopod too if you unscrew the top part. The screw on the pole is the right size for a camera.

That’s how I use my monopod! But I have gained enough strength back to get up from a squat. I have learned to just stand and look and wait for my world and the real world to come back together. Sorry you have it, but glad I’m not alone?

I have the strength, but I have a tendency to lose my balance and fall over when getting up. Sometimes I lose my balance and fall on my butt while in the squatting position.

I have chronic Vestibular Migraine and as a result PPPD (Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness). The rehab is to help with the PPPD.

Good article explaining PPPD

BPPV and I tip easy all the time. The vestibular migraine portion is why I stand and wait. I enjoy the dampening of the tinnitus during. I spend time leaning on trees. I self trigger a lot. Most of my days are spent compensating for various conditions. Being outdoors, wandering and wondering about all I see, photographing and identifying, learning on a near daily basis has been healing, physically, mentally, and spiritually. So, off I go, tottering into the forest again.

It definitely has mental health benefits.

When you never let your dog outside at night without bringing your phone/camera/whatever else you use to photograph things, just in case there’s something interesting at the porch light. Because of course, the one time you forgot there was a really cool moth that sent you sprinting across the house for it!
