Spent 5 hours birding today! I love this photo of a great blue heron! I’ve been wanting to get a photo of them for a while but they usually fly away before I get the chance so this was very nice.

Damselflies are rare, but fun to photograph…

As a Mainer, I can relate!

Last week, an Azure Tit was observed for the first time in Norway, not too far from where I live. It was quite cold outside but for just some seconds, the bird was sitting still with no obstructing branches, watching the sunrise

I like the egret!! Awesome foreground vs. framing background, composition, color, contrast, subject! What an amazing catch!! And I mean photography-wise and lizard-wise!

Happy with these photos, though sad subject — got these shots of a mangey coyote over the weekend. Didn’t look like it was having a great time.

That snoozin’ seal is also already getting my vote, but this is a really stunning round of bird photos, gotta say! Top marks all around

It’s no artwork, aesthetically speaking, but I’m kinda proud of this specimen photo of Octolasion cyaneum, a species of Lumbricid earth worm. This is the underside which shows the characteristics needed for identification.

Tail is hairless on the end. I bet that is cold LOL

Not the most elegant photo of a little egret but the look on its face and that neck mid-swallow made me smile. And the little pied cormorant looks decidedly grumpy!

Nah, that cormorant looks defensive; kind of like a small child throwing a tantrum!!

I was happy with this behaviour shot of Rhytidoponera metallica (Green-head Ant) harvesting from lerps. https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/333560672
