This is a beautiful shot of a rail in a natural environment! Rails often stumble into cities. There is a subreddit dedicated to it: the Extremely Lost Rails subreddit, now called https://www.reddit.com/r/ExtremelyLostRallidae/

It is so hard to get a clean pic of these birds. Those little buggers are in such thick cattails, it is easy to hear not so much to see them, impossible to photograph them.
Witnessed a truly wild encounter with a pair of rabbits attacking a bullsnake (I assume they had babies nearby they were protecting). Did not go great for one of the bnnuys. It’s gotta be too big for that snake to eat though… right?! O_o’

A little sequence of frames from a video, a few days ago, at a park fountain pool.
The little park is right across the street from where I live, and it features some large fountains. Lately, I’ve been getting some interesting shots of ‘bug rescues’ there.
When I put them on the edge of the pool to dry out, many will spend a few minutes drying out and if they’re flyers, it’s a great chance to catch wing detail – which is darn tricky when they’re NOT soaking wet.
