I added this one to my collection of “ants that noticed the photographer” which is one of my favorite kinds of wildlife photos. And @ossorno’s amazing lighting belongs on the “cute” list.

I found this transverse lady beetle hanging out in some young sagebrush. I had to root around in there to get the photos. When I tried to get a pic of the face, it flew off. I liked the complementary colors, and how delicate the sagebrush looked. Two are the same, but with a different crop.

Had a fun interaction out near the water today - I have an about a sequence of 25 photos where this little puppy is eating fish and this is the first one I’ve gone through. Taken earlier today. LMK if you have edit advice

Nice catch - for both of you! Not that I’m an expert, but I would brighten and sharpen the croc a bit, and tone down the water a bit to remove the glare and emphasize the ripples. Just a couple of suggestions.

Looks like a juvenile gator feeding on maybe a ¿Centrarchid? (guessing about the prey)

Haha thanks! Yes, this is an American alligator feeding on a bluegill. I’ll edit the other photos in this series and upload them to iNat and share the link here.

If you wouldn’t mind letting me know then what you think of the edits and what could be improved I would be grateful.

Found a couple of Crematogaster scutellaris this week, and the picture turned out to be quite cute
