This is the best suggestion. Automatically rendering emojis is a nuisance.

As someone who’s not into emoji (but I do use them from time to time) I wasn’t aware of the emoji chooser on Windows and Mac machines. IMO iNat doesn’t need to add specific emoji support if it’s already easy to add emoji on computers, phones, and tablets for those who want to.

I’m going to close this request. As has been noted, there are pretty easy ways to enter emoji both on deskop/laptops and on mobile devices.
