Bigfoot Sighting and Photo

The large mouth also seems like good evidence that this is an ambush predator.

What browser settings are best for viewing pictures of this species?

After Hours of tedious research I found a family which has had a wildcam up since the 1970s and actually snapped a picture of the (what I believe) other species.

The species with red coloration is extremely invasive. The word “noxious” has been used.

It’s also hybridizing with the native species, such as @giannamaria pointed out.

I saw a red one on TV at Hogmanay last year!

If you’re ever in the area where you sighted the bigfoot, beware of Oscar the Grouch. He can be hard to deal with sometimes. Here is a link to Oscar: https://media.tenor.com/ThQMBEZoTOYAAAAM/sesame-street-oscar-the-grouch.gif
The link :top: will give you an idea of Oscar’s personality. Lol :joy:.

Hmm, could the green color be algae, similar to what happens with sloths?

Lol . Maybe.

Any chance of getting a recording of its vocalizations?

Agreed, it’s a hybrid. I’ve heard that urban sprawl, specifically the expansion of the community of Sesame Street is pushing these two species closer together. Where they overlap, they hybridize.

The hybrids seem fairly easy to distinguish from the original species.

Good for us iNaturalist identifiers :)

Apparently these species hybridize with bears???

How strange-- so they must be mammalian! Or, maybe it’s a species that has evolved to mimic a feared predator?

Oh no! Not another Yeti in a Bigfoot costume. I never get why people fall for that? The stance clearly reveals it is a Yeti, as does the absence of cookies.

How does the stance reveal it’s a Yeti? I’ve always thought that they were more crouched. There may be other species to take into consideration, too.

On a different note, I’m guessing that the red species may be related to the Skunk ape based on its smaller size.

Ecology. The Bigfoot, living in forests and cupboards near a cookie packet, squeezes through undergrowth or beneath shelves and therefore tends to have a typically crouched stance, reminiscent of the modern apes. The Yeti, on the other hand, wades through very deep snow, so usually he keeps this upright spine/stance we see in the picture in question.

A joke? This is a serious scientific endeavor!
