How am I missing the point? If kimbrint was a passenger of had a deadline I can certainly understand the use of a blurred image. But if not, it seems like a fair question to ask about maybe stopping for a better picture.

I think the point of that image was to test (“just for the heck of it”) what the CV would do with a blurry image of the type people get when taking pictures from moving vehicles.

you are missing the point because the blurry images are opportunistic and taken when people can’t stop and get out. And they aren’t required to either. And they may not be physically able to. I am not sure why you think my question is “inappropriate”. That seems a bit harsh. If my remarks are a diversion, just scroll past. The example of an interstate highway did not seem to apply in the case of kimbrint’s photo.

I too have missed several rare birds because I was a passenger in cars where drivers wouldn’t stop. Of course this was almost 50 years ago and I did not have a decent camera for photos, blurry or otherwise. Now that I have a car, time and a better camera I can observe more but I do not think my map …
