This is not correct, complexs can be suggested. Even your own example does.
Complexs will never show in the “we are pretty sure it is this”, the red circle. But they can if they are a leaf taxa learned in the CV in the blue section.
The issue here is complexs can never be shown as an ancestor taxon reccomendation. If the complex is unlearned, but 9 species are learned in the CV all in the same complex. You will never get a complex reccomendation as the ancestor. This is a large problem and is one of the reasons I’m hesitant some taxa of Chironomid get in the CV.
Though i’m unsure if it is still not possible woth iNat next, which had some changes to the common ancestor reccomendation.
This solution should be edited I believe.

Axarus festivus complex has been known since 2024. Complexs being able to be learned as leaf taxa is not a new thing for 2025.

At the time of the comment, the CV suggested species-level N. americanus but not the complex. However, this is tangential to the broader discussion, and I’ve already acknowledged that my claim about the CV never suggesting complexes was misinformed. If I could, I’d edit the original comment to strike through that part, but the comment is too old and editing is locked. I don’t want to continue this conversation further—believe me or don’t.

Apologies, I think I misinterpreted the last msg a little, I also was unaware of locked comments. Eitherway this isn’t a big issue anyways.
Do you have more information on locked comments? Does that just happen when a thread is locked? The older half of this thread was locked, but then it was unlocked?
