Here’s the NGram word viewer (though it only comes from books and maybe not obscure papers or guides so i am not sure it will work for common names). Look, people were discussing iNaturalist in 1865! https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?content=Inaturalist&year_start=1800&year_end=2019&case_insensitive=on&corpus=26&smoothing=7&direct_url=t4%3B%2CInaturalist%3B%2Cc0%3B%2Cs0%3B%3BiNaturalist%3B%2Cc0%3B%3BINATURALIST%3B%2Cc0#t4%3B%2CInaturalist%3B%2Cc0%3B%2Cs0%3B%3BiNaturalist%3B%2Cc0%3B%3BINATURALIST%3B%2Cc0

Users can’t bulk import common names, only staff can. Users can create a spreadsheet in the required format and send it to staff asking it gets loaded, but they can only on their own add names one at a time manually.
