Etymology :: epithet osyrensis

Heyne made the collection in Orissa and coined the manuscript name Convolvulus orixensis (as seen from his hand-written annotation on a syntype specimen); Roth misread Heyne’s epithet as osyrensis and published the same. The publishing authors Romer and Schultes ascribed the name and the description together to: Roth … MSS. Therefore, Roth is the author of the species name (see the ICN Art. 46 Ex. 22)

Odisha is the modern name of Orissa. It’s a state in Eastern India.
