If there’s a taxon you want to exclude from display, you can add parameters to the URL: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/how-to-exclude-user-specified-taxa-in-a-search/6691/2
This way you could see a map of e.g. German reptiles without those few ‘exotic’ species that you don’t care about (no matter their captive-or-not status).
