don’t forget botanical curation! I have encountered numerous problems triggered by the slapdash omission of the series rank such as when I helped reorganize the maples (Acer). basically all ICNafp taxa would benefit from implementing this rank.
I am also stopping in to add one more voice for advocating for the rank of series as well as the omitted ranks as outlined by Pulk. I was searching for if there was any discussion as to why iNat doesn’t include that rank after curating the Oenothera on iNat. It appears this has been a long standing discussion and I think as iNat has grown so much since 2020, it would not be harmful to add these scientifically recognized ranks.
If the zoologists can have included ranks like epifamily, parvorder and subterclass then I feel there is also room for the botanical series.
iNat ranks seem a bit zoo-biased.
Subkingdom is a removed rank. It existed as far back as 2014, and as recently as 2018.
