From a reporting standpoint, inaturalist is neither to blame for the crime, not praised for helping solve the crime. Naming iNaturalist as a tool that helped locate the ‘murder weapon’ is only objectively noteworthy. It simply highlights how a good thing can be used in a negative way, or a bad thing can be converted to good use. Like social media or AI
