Ooh, Pinguicula! I love those living flypaper strips.

I love birds, so 4 of my top 10 are birds I commonly see around my house. I also have way too many deer in my area because some guy killed all the coyotes in my neighborhood. (I think I posted about that. Sadly, I do not remember the last time I saw a coyote, maybe on my trail cam last winter? I never hear them) Without coyotes, the deer are booming. I also have a lot of raccoon observations. I love taking pictures of moths on my barn wall, and Idaea dimidiata is one of the most common ones. I think they’re pretty looking too. *S. complicatum is just a pretty bright orange fungus, and I live in the woods, so it makes sense for me to have at least one fungus. I like lifting old boards and logs so maybe that’s why I have so many milky slug and earthworm obs.

I love harvestmen. they really are so photogenic. Other arachnids can be so flighty, but the harvestmen always pose for me :-D
Here’s a cute one grooming a forelimb. It’s one of my favorite of my arachnid observations.

My top 10 most observed species are all trees, and I’m planning to keep it that way. Trees are sentinels of time, seemingly unmoved by their environments yet always undergoing changes. Old trees are relics of yesterday and young trees little packages of hope for a greener future. Trees are simultaneously easy to kill and some of the sturdiest organisms. I love them
