conversely i’ve got a ton of Diplacus IDs identified to aurantiacus which is no longer the correct species. While i don’t agree those should have been separated out to species level, i am also not trying to intentionally have the wrong ID… honestly i’d rather just have my IDs automatically withdrawn if there’s a split in the relevant genus. I’ve got no interest in helping promote this new approach to taxonomy, but nor do i want to actively obstruct it with ‘wrong’ IDs because it’s pointless. I get dozens of notifications each day, often more, just with people ‘correcting’ IDs to match splitter taxonomic treatments. Instead i just don’t do IDs any more except for a few select people, and won’t ID species that have gotten the splitter treatment any more at all.
