New Computer Vision Model Released

I ferl increase of mistakes in taxa CV was comfortable before, suggesting species that photo looks nothing like, both actual id and wrong one were in CV before, so it might be something with new wave. And yes, it suggests one genus and then sure it’s species of another genus, actually first one was right.
Often it suggests species not seen nearby without caption of “not sure”.

So i’ve noticed - now that I switched it - it is staying on Visually Similar between every visit and has been much better so thanks again!

One of similar, it first suggests a genus that is not found nowhere nearby and sure in a correct species.

iNat and I agree Pseudoselago
but with Seen Nearby, of the top suggestions I agree it could be confused with Staavia, especially for such a distant photo.
The other suggestions are wrong.
(My attempted screenshot refuses to capture CV list display)

If you can use the scissors programm there’s a handy setting of delay.

on my version of windows it’s called “Snip” if you type in the search “snip” it will pop up the “snipping tool”

Sorry, that must be it.)

Some praise for @alex and friends. Thanks to the new model (and more attentive observers?), I’m seeing fewer mistakes in Penstemon this spring. Especially in Colorado, with Penstemon virens, which has 15 “other species commonly misidentified as this species”.

Also, I was able to test it successfully with a Macrotera bee. I’m a little worried that it doesn’t know the difference between the bees and the globemallow plants they are often found on, but humans should know the difference in the “visually similar” menu.

The first suggestion was a Clematis with Seen Nearby off, and the other suggestions were mainly Anemonoides with a few Clematis and some others.

I see this often (?) and I use the nearby filter.

@alex I encountered a heap of these today during one of my uploads, first time I’ve noticed it happening in a while. Three examples among many, left side = expected nearby on + right = off:
