Maybe! We’ll see. Right now it seems like another slaughter bandaid. Saying killing barred owls will help Cascade foxes sounds like a tremendous reach, if you know literally anything about Cascade foxes.
This perfectly illustrates the difference between applied science and science. I would never (personally) favor a policy that looks exclusively at cascade foxes or for that matter, spotted owls. Thankfully, they are attempting to take everything into consideration. It’s possible that after taking everything into consideration, they get it wrong. But it isn’t wrong to try.
