Search results list observations in the wrong order

since you changed the time zone in your account settings between the 2 uploads, you got two different time zones applied to your observations. it’s definitely a quirk, but i think this is technically how the system was designed to work.

I don’t doubt the system was designed to work this way. The bug is that the system defaults to some unspecified timezone if there is none specified in the user’s account settings. The system shouldn’t let me create any observations until I’ve specified a default. Otherwise this is what happens.

I find this “feature” to be a strange one indeed. @jdmore says it best:

It seems to me that the time zone set in the user’s account setting should only affect how observation times are displayed, not how the data are interpreted at upload. Otherwise that makes things very confusing.
