Should There Be More Reward Mechanisms for Identifiers?

I personally would hate this. Let’s not forget some species can be identified without clicking on the observation. I think this limits the amount of identifications you could make, it certainly does not increase them.

However, if iNat changed it to where once you reviewed an observation you could go back to the broad view and chose “Agree/Add ID on All Reviewed Observations” than that would fix the problem as you can review without needing an agree button. I personally would love for that to be added. Even better would be allowing you to add a specific identification to all reviewed observations. This would be immensely helpful for the current dilemma I’m in. Currently, Phocides batabano is the Mangrove skipper within florida yet Phocides pigmalion is constantly being identified as the florida one. Every single Phocides pigmalion identification is wrong in Florida, you don’t need to review the observations to see that. Therefore allowing me to quickly switch them all the Phocides batabano ssp. okeechobee quickly would be a life-saver as it currently is quite a slow progress, I need to type up the name on every single observation everytime I get to one even though I shouldn’t have to review them like that because they are all incorrect.

EDIT: Looking back this would be hard to trust new users with so maybe this would be a “reward” similar to the wikipedia idea for users who are known as good identifiers and they could apply for this ability (e.g. like it came with curator, etc.) or it was allowed like certain forum abilities after proven identification dedication solving the problem in question of this post to a general point.

The reason without that implementation my identification work would be much more difficult with removing the agree button is that I at least as often as I do needs id work need to re-check the observations that are RG to make sure they weren’t identified incorrectly, which they frequently are so allowing to agree to the ones that clearly are correct and then click on and take a close look at the questionable ones is nessicary.
