Not contradictory with the following (and consistent with a separation of actions):

iNaturalist will always allow users to entirely delete their content from the site, both as a matter of principle and because laws like GDPR would not allows us retain data by users who no longer want us to.

However, that doesn’t mean we can’t give users the option to leave their iNat contributions on the site if they do decide to delete their accounts.
