Well the spiders are pretty adorable, depending on who you ask. As for relevance…yeah. Not really.

Saw a couple of black dots on the stones by my house, so using my magnifying loupe and handheld microscope I decided to check them out. Was not expecting the cuteness of these globular springtails :laughing:



The one with white spots actually has very few observations… 13 more and I would be the top observer :eyes:

I think there is some uncertainty about how to distinguish Sminthurinus bimaculatus, trinotatus and quadrimaculatus (in spite of the names, it isn’t about the number of spots) so many observations get left at genus.

They are cute little things, though, whichever the species. I have some that periodically appear in my balcony flowerpots.
