the question is: Is the extension exaggerating the computer’s confidence, or is the computer exaggerating the computer’s confidence?

I’m the author of the extension. This is all it’s doing:

It’s just the computer vision score, which is [0,100], scaled to [0,120] and used as the hue in HSL .
