You are right. UVIVF is more useful to identify Lichens, minerals and fungi. However, for some plants, such as flower of Rudbeckia, you could use UVIVF technique to see the “Bull eye” UV nectar pattern (aka bee vision) . Sometimes I still use UVIVF to check if flowers absorb or reflect UV, I think that’s what the author of that article meant, but not to use UVIVF photography to find “UV nectar guide pattern”. For example, some cacti flowers appeared to be “black” in UVIVF photos and False Gromwell flowers are very bright. :-)
