@oksanaetal maybe you should start this as a new thread.

I can’t comment on “Examples of flora”, for reasons that I won’t get into, but I will say that native shortgrass prairie is one of the most endangered ecosystems in North America, so I wouldn’t say that, “Much of it remains”.

Alright, some remains, more, I believe, than what remains of tallgrass prairie.

I wonder if any vertebrate parasites could make the jump in time to another host. Perhaps some worms that use other invertebrates as secondary hosts could use them as primary hosts?
