I really love this photo. I’ve got a bit of backlog to work on uploading from this week, this image included, but once I’m done I think I’ll have finally reached 1,000 observations!!!
Hey everyone! Sorry I didn’t make the end of week poll earlier, I was birding in Point Pelee over the weekend! I don’t know how we should do this, but here is my best first attempt:
Welcome to the weekly photo of the week challenge! This week, we had many amazing entrys, from flowers, to snakes. What a better way to end it off than with a poll for the “BEST PHOTO OF THE WEEK” #1 title! Vote for whichever photo you found your favorite!
- stanislav_murashkin 's Adder (Vipera berus)
- oksanaetal 's Sessile Bellwort
- socroc10 's Snail (Sorry, not sure of the species!)
- macrotim 's Arrangement of macro photos (Blue Oak mite, Common Mouse-ear Chickweed, and Potworm)
- ra_teo 's Mallard
- ra_teo 's House Jumping Spider
- seeker1000 's Ribbed Pine Borer
- capperlabs 's Mourning Dove
- giannamaria 's Grousewinged Backsimmer and Caddisfly Larva
- jasonhernandez74 's Lichen Assortment
- ra_teo 's Hedgerow Crane’s-Bill
- papernautilus 's Water Striders
- oksanaetal 's Leek
- kai_schablewski 's Lawn Daisy
All amazing photos, and I can’t wait to see who will be our first winner! Normal submissions for next week will start tomorrow!
Edit Sorry I couldn’t “@” mention everyone, there is a cap to 10 “@” mentions in a post, which the amount of entry exceeded
I think the poll has been left out for long enough, and I am happy to announce that for our first ever photo of the week champion the winner is… (drumroll please)
A three way tie! Congratulations to @macrotim , @ra_teo , and @stanislav_murashkin ! You are the first three winners of this contest!
Thanks to everyone who contributed, and feel free to make your submissions for this week as well!

@songbird82894 - love your photos, but remember this rule.
Thank you for remembering the rules! @songbird82894 I’m not super strict about it, however the moderaters reminded me that
as they
It’s not the end of the week for me yet, but I was pretty pleased with the first photo in this observation of some lifer weevils.

I was lucky and managed a bunch of different stacks recently.
Here is a beautifully colored Trochosa sepulchralis that my brother found a few days ago (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/279707235):
I also got some decent photos of a very active (my brother also found) Western Lynx Spider (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/279707231):
And finally, yesterday I found a small Xysticus auctificus (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/279781854):
I see those tiny white flowers too
My best photo this week. Parasola auricoma (goldenhaired inkcap) NW Ohio https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/279270201
It says “photos” instead of “photo” so it sounds like it is saying you can show multiple photos
Yes, but that’s less specific than what I quoted earlier.
Anyway, I’m not the thread maker or moderators; I shouldn’t be enforcing the rules.
If multiple people post, there will be multiple photos. When I said “Your” best photos of the week, I was addressing the forum as a whole. No worries though, I guess it can be a bit confusing
I’ll compete with this one if I can only choose one for each week.
