Im happiest when Im outdoors, in my garden or in natural bushland, surrounded by animals, birds and insects.
I find the decrease in insect diversity in particular very disturbing and admit to not feeling at all positive about our planets future whilst we Humans continue to be a disrespectful plague upon it.
Recording that dwindling diversity at times seems a little like Nero fiddling yet I truly hope I may be contributing some how.
I enjoy photographing the living creatures in my natural environment, iNaturalist has now provided me with justification to do so more often and to the detriment of my incredibly long retirement To Do list.
I have a very short attention span so it is unlikely that at this stage of my life I will ever remember any Latin names. Taking better photos with as much useful detail as possible I now know requires a steady hand, lightening reflexes, amazing flexibility and the surefootedness of a mountain goat so apologies in advance.
