I am an ecologist and taxonomist by training, which reflects my inner old-school naturalist. I’m interested in a broad range of organisms, with a particular fondness for obscure or oddball taxa. Although I do have a decent Canon photographic setup, most of my recent photos were taken with an iPhone, often either through a clip-on macro lens or binoculars. I made this admittedly odd switch as part of my efforts in my Field Biology course to explore the usefulness, and limits, of smartphones as general-purpose field tools.
