My name is Carl Robertson. I teach Chinese language, literature and culture at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, USA. I have always been fascinated with the natural world and on my travels I have always unintentionally taken pictures of bugs, plants and birds instead of the people I am with. Poetry and literature are compelling to me to the degree that they deal with the natural world (and other things, too, I suppose). iNaturalist feels like an extension of my own natural interests and tendencies, as if I have always been an iNaturalist-user-in-waiting.
