After a previous career lecturing in countryside management at Sparsholt College, Winchester, UK, I now live in Cornwall where I work as a technical adviser to the British Deer Society. I also contribute to several publications on countryside matters and have written a number of books; my current project is ‘A Guide to the Deer of the World’ which will be published in 2022. A lifelong naturalist, my particular passion has always been for deer with a special interest in the roe and Reeves’ muntjac.
