I’ve been an amateur naturalist for the past 20-something years, and interested in bugs in particular ever since I was just barely old enough to see and comprehend the existence of them. My main interest was bugs for awhile, then shifted to fish, then to birds, and is now looping back around towards bugs while still encompassing the other two (and quite a few more).

As you will rapidly be able to tell from my INat observations (username gayleistired there as well, linked here), I live in Central Texas. As you will probably not be able to tell from my observations, I have some chronic health issues that periodically interfere with my ability to be active outdoors, particularly in the heat, and I’m not necessarily great at conveying and understanding tone online. I’m doing my best on both fronts.

I’m also looking to make some more in-person friends who share my outdoor-related interests, so if you live in my area do feel free to contact me. Maybe we’d get along well.
