I am an engineering student who’s recently developed a mycology hobby. I’m discovering that it’s important to be able to identify species from other kingdoms when trying to reliably identify fungi. I have found both the seek app and the community of naturalists to be very helpful for an amateur/hobbyist–plus, it reminds me of going bug hunting with my high school biology teacher.

Out of respect for the sciences and what I know of CV/ML/AI, I may not contribute to many observations at this time–and I am grateful for those who do! Rather, it is my goal to learn while assisting the scientific community in documenting local ecosystems and habitats.
