I’ve been interested in nature since childhood, thanks to parents who taught me how to identify dangerous organisms and to not fear innocuous ones. I received a BS in biology, then went on to become a medical technologist, then a legal assistant, then a teacher. I found myself stuck in El Salvador when the pandemic came down and, stuck at home, turned to examining and trying to identify the organisms in my back yard. Biology was my first love, and I’ve come full circle now.
I plan to return to El Salvador before winter, 2021, and expect to spend most of my time there in future.
