As urban development continues to expand in Spokane County, Washington’s wildlands, identifying plants (and occasional insects, when they hold still enough) in the conservation areas helps me appreciate what is protected. It is good to see how many people are doing the same!
I was an active Master Gardener, managed a garden center, and have been on a dozen botany walks, but am still very much an amateur when it comes to ID. I can help ID common plants that don’t have lookalikes – but only in Spokane County. For photos I upload, I hope to get suggestions for some plants that have been frustrating me for years. For local ID’d plants that already have a lot good photos of blooms, maybe I can contribute closeups of leaves, flower buds, and seed heads.
