I am a retired educator with 40 year experience planning, evaluating, and researching (mainly demography). I originally was planning to major in Biology and always loved being in the woods as a youth. When I retired I became a Texas Master Naturalist. I lead hikes and develop materials for learning about nature. I swore I would never get into plant identification, but I find that fascinating and have been learning continuously the last couple of years. My major insights are (1) how little I know (2) how plants do not read books, and (3) how many species are very difficult to differentiate. But it all is an excuse to be outside in nature.
