I was a science writer for The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center for 25 years. I have an MS in zoology from Oregon State University. My interests are cell and invertebrate biology, particularly intertidal inverts (few and far between in Ohio) and insects. I am now learning local plants and fungi, especially plants used for ink/dye making. I volunteer with the nonprofit Better Healthcare for Africa and during normal times travel yearly to Zimbabwe. Don’t know when I’ll make it there next, but I hope to try iNat when I go!
