Account help - Change email account info

How do I change my email setting? I have a new email address and the one used years ago to set up my iNat account is now obsolete.

If you are still able to sign in to your iNaturalist account, the help topic for changing your email is here:

On the web site, on the first (Profile) tab of your account settings, your email address is shown in an editable box. Replace it with your new address and Save Settings. You will need to reply to a confirmation message at your new address.

If you are doing it through the phone app, it should be a similar process.

If you can’t sign in to your account, then you will need to email help@inaturalist.org.

Thanks, the problem seems to be that I have a different account using the newer email address - but I don’t seem to be able to get into that account to even delete it. Therefore I can’t change the email on the account that I am using.

OK, I think I solved it - managed to retrieve the old account and delete it. Thanks.
