I think what @insectobserver123 is saying is that there aren’t so many cases where one power should be taken away without it also being justified to take away the other.
I also think a lot of the people with curator powers predating the application process who still mainly do taxon curation don’t even know they can do behavioral curation.

It might cause a mess if the votes were automatically removed on suspension - we’ve all known people who provided thousands of perfectly valid contributions and then got themselves suspended by getting into a flame war over taxonomy - but I do think it would be good for the suspending curator to have an option to disable that account’s DQA votes upon suspension.
curation should be taken away from taxonomic curators who can’t follow the guidelines, but it makes no sense to take power away from someone who’s a good moderator just because they aren’t taxonomists.
I thought you were saying the taxonomists who don’t interact with others well should lose moderation privileges, and I was saying if their interactions with others are so problematic they should lose taxonomy curation privileges as well

I think taxonomists who are not interacting well with others shouldn’t have moderation privileges like responding to behavioral flags and such. I don’t think it always means they should lose their ability to edit taxonomy, because i think the bar for being an authority figure who can enact discipline for lack of a better word should be much higher for behavior than someone who’s just a taxonomist. But right now it’s all or nothing. I’ve definitely observed cases where taxonomic curators acted in a way that isn’t really worthy of a behavior flag but is really inappropriate for a site moderator.

True but there’s also only partly a correlation between being a good taxonomist and a good taxonomic curator. You can be either without the other. The second requires an extra layer of dispute resolution and technical understanding of the site.
I think that cases where bulk amounts of votes have to be removed instead of outvoted are rare enough that it could just be an issue for the staff instead of a curator power. If regular curators can just find the problematic votes, I think that is enough (especially at the stage of just prototyping a new tool; more enhanced capabilities could be added later if it was determined that they were needed).
