Animal/Plant Populations in Surprising Location

What are some interesting animal/plant populations that, geographically, seem “out of place”? One example that comes to mind is the Six-Lined Racer, which has a population in Michigan, far away from its other populations. Another example is the rhesus monkeys in Morgan Island, SC. The monk parakeet population in NY could be another example.

Welcome to the forum! This is gonna be an interesting thread, can’t wait to see some of the replies.

The two that have really caught me off guard were Lambay Island outside Dublin being populated with wallabies, and the nilgai population in south Texas
