I find these descriptions amusing as being technically phylogenetically correct. But I think they’re unhelpful and irrelevant in most contexts. I think it’s accurate to say that dinosaurs are extinct, because birds aren’t really dinosaurs just like whales are clearly no longer hoofed mammals.
