Are any sawfly species dangerous to humans in any life stage such as by poisoning, biting, or stinging?
No. Sawflies are fairly harmless. The larval stage of a few species can secrete a liquid that can irritate the eyes/skin, but one would have to be purposefully handling them and then rubbing their skin or face to get to that point.
As a note, even “dangerous” animals are relatively benign if the appropriate space and respect are given. Typically, inappropriate human behavior is what makes animals potentially dangerous.
Duh of course
Are there any irritating species in australia?
Beware the drop bears
(Sorry about the flagged post - the joke is not mine - it came from an Australian)
