I want to export some 3k observations from Observation.org and import them into Inat. It appears however that in the Inat import function, the required csv format does not have any option/column to include a link to the (freely-accessible) pictures (eg: https://waarneming.nl/media/photo/2987871.jpg)? If this is indeed not possible via the csv import, what other way could there be to batch import observations with pictures from Observation.org into Inat?
That’s correct, the csv importer doesn’t allow photo uploads.
You’ll need to use a script – I think the closest one that is publicly available is https://medium.com/@johannes.t.klein/how-to-upload-many-observations-to-inaturalist-at-once-baf5b7eb113a, which takes a Google Drive folder of images. I think you would instead want to pass the URL of your photo (among other modifications).
