Bird observations question?

I have a question how do you tell the difference between a male and female Northern Flicker?

if you go to the species page you can find lots of information about the bird, and for this bird it includes:
“Males can be identified by a black (in the eastern part of the species’ range) or red (in the western part) mustachial stripe at the base of the beak, while females lack this stripe.”
along with a lot of other information you may find interesting!

If I remember correctly males have a red “mustache”, so this would be a female.
